Users

I thought that i'm hired to take care of computers, network, printers and phones. But i can't remember that in my job descriptions was something like child care, day care or babysitter.

guidelines for handling Users:

  • 99% of all Computer or IT failures are coursed by at least one user.

  • The User will always try to fix it by himself

  • When you ask a User what he did, you will always get the answer: Nothing

  • Don't try to put stickers with hotline numbers on the devices. They will not see it. Even not when it is 150 point Arial in RED

  • Expect 80% of User calls at lunch time also between 12pm and 1pm and all are urgent.

  • Do not maintain your lunch break an hour later because the calls will shift proportionally.

  • Never make users angry. They will CC the CFO to put pressure on you. If the CFO is well disposed to your department - Go ahead make my day!
