I really don't know how the gas prizes come together. Not in Germany
nor here in the USA.
But I know that a big part of them is tax, at least in Germany. Here
in the USA I have the feeling they spin the wheel of fortune to get
the prize and every year they add a buck to the scale.

It is worldwide known that oil is a limited resource and oil
companies have to invest a shit load of money to find new drill sites
which can feed the worlds need for gas. Those companies complain about
how much money they have to spend to maintain there pipelines, finding
valuable drill sites and research more efficient / environment friendly
gasolines.

On the other hand they double up there yearly profits which are
already in the billions! Hmm ... Maybe the research wasn't that
expensive.

The best joke was in my opinion, the raising of the gas prizes in
Europe last year because a pipeline in Alaska had a leak. First of all
the pipeline had a leak for at least 3 years on different points
because the conditions are ruff up there. Second the pipeline is not
for the European market and third the oil from a Alaska is usually not
usable for gasoline because the quality is not good enough.
Ok so maybe it wasn't the oil industries who filled there pockets with
that story, so maybe the European government which saw the chance to
raise the taxes on gas.

Actually it doesn't matter who did, the fact that somebody did scares,
the hell out of me.
And the fact that the world we live on Is so capitalistic scares me too.

Sometimes I get the feeling they know exactly that there business is
dieing and they try to make as much money as they can.

My guess is that this companies have allready the solution for the oil
problem they just wait for it to run out to get even the last buck out
of the last drop.
