New Toy

I got us a new data grave for home. Since Kat and i where not be able to share data properly, i decided on a "little" NAS (Network Attached Storage). Little, is in fact 750GB mirrored. Ok it is huge but it rocks!

It has a nice design, a great management interface (Web) and is absolutely loaded!

Here the technical facts:

  • 20GB -1TB per HDD (maximum of 2TB in total)
  • RAID (EXT2, EXT3), non RAID (FAT32, EXT2, EXT3)
  • For RAID 0 & 1, two hard drives of identical capacity and make are required
Interface /Ports:
  • 10/100/1000Mbps Base-TX Auto MDI/MDI-X, 1 port (RJ-45)
  • USB 2.0 High Speed (USB1.1), 2 upstream ports (Type A)

Web Based Configuration:
  • System:
User & Group Management, FTP & SMB Server, Printer Server, Share Management, System Time (NTP with real time clock), Disk Usage
  • Network Services
DHCP Server, UPnP, Bonjour, BitTorrent Client
  • System Tools:
Disk Utility, RAID Management, System & Network Log, Firmware Upgrade, Configuration Management
